A 5K




It’s time to challenge yourself to do something greater, to push your body onward when your mind tells you to stop, to show yourself you’re stronger than you think. Join us the entire month of April by completing a 5k every day. You can run, walk, jog or skip, anything that gets you out there moving! We will be there every step of the way to help keep you motivated and encourage you to push forward.

In case you need the extra push, we have some great prizes from On Running and Honey Stinger that we will be giving away. You also will have access to check out a peak performance workshop by a Great Day Squad guest coach, just for participating!

What is the GDFAR challenge?

It is a chance to push yourself beyond comfortable by completing a 5k every day for the month of April. The Great Day Squad has prepared training plans for both cardio workouts and strength workouts, as well as our regular weekly mental workouts to get you ready to go.

What if I miss a day?

Start again tomorrow! Don’t beat yourself up, just get back on schedule the next day!

What are the prize drawings?

Every five days we will pick a random name to win a prize. We have Great Day Squad t-shirts, great nutrition from Honey Stinger and other great prizes from our friends at On Running.

How do I get entered into the prize drawings?

You complete a 5k every day. For every day you complete a 5k you will have one entry into the drawing. More moving means more opportunity to win!

Do I have to run?

Absolutely not! You can walk, jog, skip, hop, crabwalk, anything that involves your feet moving on the earth!

Can I do this anytime?

You can complete your 5k anytime that is convenient for you! The Great Day Squad will start the day with a Morning Motivation to encourage and support you in your effort to get out there! For example, your Monday run can be anytime in the 24 hour period 12:01 am through 11:59 pm.

Where is this event happening?

This will be a “virtual” event allowing participants to complete the challenge wherever they are located and then record and interact with others virtually through various social platforms.

How far is a 5k?

A 5k is 3.1 miles, 12.5 laps around a track, 16,404 feet and 196,805 inches.

How do I track my distance?

We suggest you track your distance with any app that records distance, Strava and Nike Running Club are a couple. When you sign up to participate, you will receive a template to use if that more suits your style. Pencil not included.

How do I submit my 5k workouts?

You will have access to a link that will take you to a Google form you fill out and that sends your information directly to us! Or if you prefer pen and paper, send us an email at and we will send you an excel or PDF tracker you can manually fill out.

How do I find the link to submit my workouts?

It will be in your welcome email, on the GDS website and we recommend you save it since you will be coming back to it quite often. Hit us up if you can’t find it!

Will I receive any evidence that I completed this challenge?

Yes! You will receive a Certificate of completion and a recap of your challenge stats as you have provided to us through the Google Form.  At this time we are not planning on sending out anything physical to challenge finishers.
