Great Day for a Run 5k Challenge

It’s time to challenge yourself to do something greater. Join us the entire month of April by running a 5k every day. We will be there every step of the way to motivate you and encourage you to push forward.

As added motivation, we have great prizes from On Running, Honey Stinger and Nathan’s Sports that will be given away:

  • Every day you log a run, you will get an entry into the drawing
  • Entries will accumulate the entire month
  • We will choose a winner every 5 days for our basic prize pack (participant can only win basic prize pack once)
  • At the end of the month, if you completed all 30 days, you will get an additional 5 entries for the grand prize (in addition to all the daily entries you received)

FAQ’S

What is the GDFAR challenge?

Every day for the month of April we are challenging you to join us in running a 5k every day.

Where is this event happening?

This will be a “virtual” event allowing participants to complete the challenge wherever they are located and then record and interact with others virtually through social platforms.

Do I have to run?

Absolutely not! You can walk, jog, skip, hop, crabwalk, anything that involves your feet moving on the earth!

Can I do this anytime?

You can complete your 5k anytime that is convenient for you during the 24 hours of that day! The Great Day Squad will start the day with a Morning Motivation to encourage and support you in your effort to get out there! For example, on April 2, you can run anytime between 12:01AM and 11:59PM.

How far is a 5k?

A 5k is 3.1 miles, 12.5 laps around a track, 16,404 feet and 196,805 inches.

How do I track my distance?

We suggest you track your distance with the app- Strava. You can also use other apps that track your distance such as an Apple Watch or NIke Running Club, but the challenge will officially be run through Strava. You can even use a pencil and paper if that is all you have!

Do I have to be a super participant to win a prize?

Nope! All participants who are logging miles will be eligible to win prizes.

What are the prizes being offered?

What if I completed a 5k but forgot to log it, or my app crashed mid workout?

That is ok! Just let us know by emailing _________ or commenting on our IG.

Why should I be a super participant instead of a basic participant?

As a super participant, you will receive strength and running plans created by coaches who train elite athletes, they are the best of the best! They’ve designed a training program specifically catered to participants who want to enter this month-long challenge. Because our program was designed this way, you are receiving a plan more tailored to this challenge than one you can find online. You will also receive access to four mental workouts throughout the duration of this challenge. These workouts are designed to improve your mental and physical wellbeing by shifting you from your comfort zone to the edge. They are targeted to optimize your performance in the areas of wellness, career and relationships. You will have access to a community of likeminded individuals committed to their best selves, connecting with and supporting others to amplify potential and decrease isolation.

Will I receive any evidence that I completed this challenge?

At this time we are not planning on sending out anything physical to challenge finishers.
